My Journey As An AIDS Nurse
My memoir, My Journey as an AIDS Nurse, was published on December 1, 2016- World AIDS Day. It took me about 35 years of journaling and ten years of writing to complete it. Those who know me best know I am not a writer, I am a nurse. I did have the help of a most incredible writer, Sally Deering, an award winning journalist and author of The Apple That Fell From the Orange Tree, also found on Amazon books. Both Sally and I agreed that a third set of eyes would be needed, so my husband Bob Buhr took time from his busy work schedule to help us come to the finished product. I am very proud of this accomplishment and I am asking all of my family and friends to support my life work by buying this book. If you think you might know others who would like to read it, please send them the information below. This book was not written for me to become rich, since I would have to sell about 10,000 books just to break even. I wrote these stories to give the younger generations a bit of history about The AIDS crisis, about being Gay and coming out, and about how politics and religion can affect personal relationships. I am one of millions of members of the LGBTQ community who has a story-each story is unique and everyone who has a story should be encouraged to write about it. People need to know they are not alone in this world, and while every story is different, each one is worthy of being told. Every person who lives or has ever lived should be honored, valued, and respected for their contributions to this planet. Those who have no respect for our Universe and those who have wasted their lives trying to destroy it; well that is a different story. We must rise above the evil in this world and do everything we can to make anything in our lives that is negative into something positive. This is not always easy, so I will use this web-site to enlist your help and suggestions on how we can make this happen.
Peace,
Dominick
